the artist's voice in contemporary activism

I organized this group show in October 2017 at McGuffey Art Center.  Artists focused on intersectional activism, from multiple perspectives and media, integrating themes of racial justice, community organizing, anti-war, affordable housing, environmentalism, feminism, and LGBTQIA advocacy.  An installation of signs and ephemera from August 12, collected in partnership with the Harrison Small Research Center/University of Virginia Library, honored those who defended our town during the Unite the Right rally.
